Faith Formation Sunday

14th Sunday Of The Year,

08th July 2018

  1. Today, 8th July is Faith formation Sunday.Our Catechists will be commissioned at the 8.15am mass. Sunday school will be as usual after the 8.15 am mass.
  2. Parents Day will be celebrated on the occasion of the feast of Sts. Joaquim & Anne in our parish on Sunday, 29th July with the Feast Mass at 5.30pm conducted by the Sunday school children followed by the Programme for parents at 6.45pm in the Parish Hall, 1st To show our gratitude to our parents for all the sacrifices they have made, Sunday school children kindly buy the Parents Day coupon for your parents for Rs.10/- each from your pocket money. The coupons will be available with your teachers in the class.
  3. Community Fund Begins : Parishioners kindly take note that Community Fund Envelopes will be distributed through your SCC leaders or Core group members. The same can be handed over with your contribution by the 3rd Sunday of July or alternatively dropped in the Community Fund Collection box placed in the Church Sanctuary on Saturday or Sunday or can be given in the Parish office. This is a new activity for our parish and we sincerely request your prayers and support to make this a successful. For any clarification, Kindly do contact your SCC leaders.
  4. The Membership Drive of the Glorious Glorians will be carried out on Saturdays and Sundays, during the month of July, 2018. All those who wish to join the Association or the Annual members who want to renew their membership, are requested to see the notice board for further details.
  5. The Family Cell of St. John Bosco Church, Borivli (West) is organizing a programme for all eligible singles of marriageable age called ‘LILAC’ on Sunday, 8th July 2018 from 10.00 am to 4.00pm. Please check the notice board for the further details.

Thirteenth Sunday Of The Year

 01st July 2018

  1. The members of the Parish Pastoral Council will have a Orientation session on Sunday 1st July 2018 at Seva Niketan at 9.00am to 1.00pm. All Parish Counsellors are expected to attend.
  2. Kindly note that by the second week of July, we will have the Community Fund rolling. The community animators will get in touch with you for the same.
  3. Today, the First Communion and Confirmation students will have the Prayer Service to begin their catechesis. The request parents to attend the Prayer Service in the Anza Parish Hall, 1st

Laity Sunday, 24th June 2018

Feast of John the Baptist

  1. Today, 24th June Sunday there will be meetings of the First Holy Communicants and Confirmation Parents after the 8.15am mass in the Anza School Hall. Kindly note that the Confirmation classes will be regularly held every Sunday after the 8.15 am mass in Anza School Hall.
  2. Today 24th June is the Solemnity of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist and Laity Sunday. The Theme is “Role of the Laity in Church and Society”. We will have the Commissioning of the representatives of various Cells and Associations at the 9.30am mass. All the representatives will assemble in the Sacristy for the Entrance procession at 9.15am.
  3. On the Occasion of the Laity Sunday, Today, there is the Archdiocesan Assembly of the Lay Heads and Asst. Heads of Parish Cells and Associations at Antonio D’Silva School Hall , SK Bole road, Dadar(W) from 4.30pm to 7.30pm. Those interested please enroll.

  1. Sunday School begins today after the 8.15 am Mass. Requesting all the children to come for the 8.15 am Mass and then attend the Sunday School.
  2. There will be a meeting of the Parish Pastoral Council member today after the 9.30 am mass. Members please make it a point to attend.
  3. Confirmation: Those interested in receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation this year must enroll for the classes.  Enrollment forms are available in the parish office.  Last date for enrolment is today.  Those who have completed tenth standard or above are eligible to enroll for Confirmation. The Confirmation classes will start today after the 8.15 am mass in the Anza Special School Hall.

10th June 2018

  1. We have resumed the regular Mass schedule from this Sunday 10th June 2018.
  2. The The Diocesan Liturgical Centre is organizing a Basic Liturgical Course for the Year 2018-2019 at the Diocesan Pastoral Centre. The inauguration  will be on 15th July 2018 at 9.30 at the D.P.C. Bandra. We would like, two interested people from our parish to be trained in Liturgy who will enhance our liturgical celebration. Those interested contact the Parish Fathers. For the details see the notice board.

Body and Blood of Christ – 3rd June 2018

  1. We resume the regular Mass schedule from next Sunday 10th June
  2. We also welcome the two new priests who have joined us this week, Fr. Pravin Fernandes and Fr. Lawrence D’Souza. We wish them a fruitful ministry here
  3. Friday 8th June is the feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. We will be having a Holy Hour at 6.00pm led by Fr. Lawrence followed by the Eucharist at 7.00pm.
  4. Saturday 9th June is the feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
  5. Confirmation: Those interested in receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation this year must enroll for the classes.  Enrollment forms are available in the parish office.  Last date for enrolment is 17th  Those who have completed tenth standard or above are eligible to enroll for Confirmation.
  6. Mass bookings from August to December 2018 will begins on Monday, 4th June from 10.00am. Only three masses for a family.

Sophia College for Womens invites Catholic girl students to apply for admission to the FYBA/ FYBSc, FYBMM and FYBSc (IT) courses in the Degree College and FYJC Arts and Science in the Junior College. The BSc in Hospitality Studies is also available on Sophia Campus, through the Sophia Polytechnic.
  8. The Glorious Glorians Senior Parishioner’s Association of Gloria Church, Byculla, will be conducting the ‘ Annual General Body Meeting’ for members only and will be held on Sunday 17th June 2018, Timing : 10.30AM in the parish hall 1st Please register with committee members outside.

Pentecost Sunday – 20th May 2018

  3. The Catholic Charismatic Renewal, Mumbai is holding Pentecost Sunday rally on Sunday 20th May 2018 at St. Stanislaus School Grounds, Bandra, frm 4pm to 8pm. The rally includes Praise and Worship / Talk by Fr Joel, infilling by Deacon Everest and Eucharist by Bishop Barthol Barreto. For details please look up the Notice Board.
  4. Divine Child Polytechnic offers various courses from 2008 onwards and we have successfully carried on till date with 100% job security. Our students who have successfully completed their degree or diploma have good jobs in hand. Please look up the notice board for details.

5th Sunday of Easter  – 29th April, 2018

A Peace gathering in solidarity with all the victims of injustice and violence against women is being organized at the Deanery level on Tuesday, May 1st at St. Michael’s Church Quadrangle (venue) from 6.00 pm to 7.00 pm. You are encouraged to participate in the gathering and to also bring people of other faiths, as this is an important cause of concern.
  3. The Parish Youth Council is organizing a Summer Club for children from 2nd May to 11th Those children interested please register in the Parish Office.  The cost is Rs. 100/-.

Chowpatty.  This is to highlight the current incidents of rape and for justice.

2nd Sunday of Easter – 8th April, 2018 –Divine Mercy Sunday

  1. Tomorrow / Today we celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday.
  2. The Focolare Movement invites all the families, adults, youth and children to the Mariapolis, a summer gathering for all. It is a very special 4 day family program. It will be held from 24th to 27th of May, 2018 at the Papal Seminary in Pune.  This year’s event is entitled “Be Family” with special focus on Mary’s role in making us builders of unity in our families and in the human family at large.  For further details please see the notice board.

Easter Sunday – the Lord’s Resurrection – Solemnity

  1. The Parish Fathers wish each and every Parishioner especially the home bound – the Peace and the Joy of the Risen Lord.
  2. Masses today (Easter Sunday) at 7.00 am, 8.15 am & 9.30 am. No Mass at 6.00 am.  All Masses in English.  No Evening Mass. 
  3. Easter Blessing of Homes. Families are requested to assemble in their homes at a convenient time and conduct the Easter Blessings. Holy water may be collected from behind the church on Easter Sunday or later, bring your own bottles.  Easter House blessing prayers are printed in the latest issue of Gloria Bridge (last page) and also put up on the website.
  4. Divine Mercy Novena continues tomorrow / today after 9.30 am Mass and from 2nd April to 7th April after 7.00 pm Mass.
  5. The Catholic Charismatic Renewal is conducting a ‘Jesus Encounter Healing Retreat’ from 13th – 15th April at Vinayalaya Retreat House, behind Holy Family Church, Andheri East. Please look up the notice board for further details.
  6. The Diocesan Vocation Service Centre is conducting a Quest programme titled “The Joy of the Priesthood” an opportunity for those discerning for the Priesthood to interact with a recently ordained Priest on 7th April at Goregaon Seminary. Please look up the notice board for further details.

  1. Palm Sunday: With Palm Sunday we begin Holy Week. Blessing of Palms and procession will be at 8 am.  Masses in the morning will be as on Sundays.  There will be no evening Mass, instead we have a Paso service starting at 5.30 pm in the Ground and procession going into the church for Veronica’s singing.

5th Sunday of Lent (Year B), 18th March, 2018

  1. The Stations of the Cross during Lent will be in English on Fridays at 7.30 pm after the evening mass and in Konkani on Wednesdays at 6.30 pm. Divine Mercy prayers on Friday will be recited at 6.45 pm.
  2. Lenten Alms Box – You may deposit your Lenten Alms in the Box kept in the sanctuary. This collection will go towards the Diocesan Seminary at Goregaon.
  3. (To be announced only on Saturday evening) Immediately after Mass we have a Reconciliation Service to help us to prepare and help us to make a good confession. Please stay back.
  4. Lenten Confessions in the parish will be held on Monday 19th & Tuesday 20th March 5.30 pm to 8.00 pm.

  4. On 2nd March we have a concert by the Gospel band “Open Secret” performing for us and leading us in prayer on the “The Last Words” of Jesus. The band has performed more that 70 concerts across the city over the last few years. This concert is based on the final words of Christ as He hung on the Cross, the concert evening will be a blend of music and reflection as the band takes us on an emotional journey, all the while helping us listen more closely to the voice of Jesus. It will be at 7.30 pm in the ground and entry is free.

To defray the expenses of stage, sound, lights, chairs etc of the concert we are                    requesting for voluntary contribution  or donation from the parishioners.  You                may contribute at the parish office mentioning that it is for the concert and                      collect a receipt.

  1. We have placed a Cross in front of the Altar near the railings and beside the cross there is box with white ribbon cross and a petition box. During Lent, every time you make a penance or sacrifice you can come and pin a white ribbon cross on the big cross and put a petition on the box.  All the petitions will be prayed at a reconciliation mass on Saturday 24th March at the 7.00 pm mass.
  2. Margaret’s Training, College, managed by the Sisters of Jesus and Mary, offer an excellent Teacher Training programme for young girls, preparing them for the Teaching Profession, much in demand today. Admissions to the TTC Course and E.C.C.E. Course at St. Margaret’s Training College are in progress for the new Academic Year June 2018.  For details look up the Notice Board.

Bible Sunday – 6th Sunday of the Year, 11th February, 2018

  1. Tomorrow / Today 11th February we celebrate World Day of the Sick. There will be a special mass for the sick and homebound on 11th February at 11.00 am in the Church. The Parish council members and the Eucharistic Ministers are urged to get the people and assist them before, during and after the Mass on that day.
  2. Wednesday, 14th February – Ash Wednesday. It is a day of Fast and Abstinence.  Ashes will be imposed only during the masses.
  3. The Stations of the Cross during Lent will be in English on Fridays at 7.30 pm after the evening mass (please note the change, it will be after the evening mass) and in Konkani on Wednesdays at 6.30 pm.
  4. Lenten Alms Box – You may deposit your Lenten Alms in the Box kept in the sanctuary. This collection will go towards the Diocesan Seminary at Goregaon.
  5. Glorious Glorians will be celebrating Annual Day on 18th February with Mass at 5.30 followed by Get-together in the Hall. Please register with members siting outside after the Mass.
  6. The next Pre-Baptism Programme for married couples expecting babies will be held on two Sundays, 18th and 25th February 2018. Both husband and wives are required to attend.  Certificates will be issued.  Please register at the Parish Office.
  7. The annual exhibition of NirmalaNiketan Polytechnic. “Creations 2018”, will be held on 16th, 17th& 18th February from 11 am to 7 pm at NirmalaNiketan College of Home Science and Polytechnic. The exhibition will showcase the work of the students of Interior Designing, Commercial Art and Fashion Designing.
  8. Holy Land: Fr. Raphael is accompanying a group to Holy land in the month of April. Anyone wishing to join may contact Fr. Raphael.
  9. As the external repair / restoration work of the Church is completed, we will be beginning the internal painting of the Church from this week. The painting will be done in two phases so that the Church services will continue without closing the entire Church.  The Sanctuary and the side transepts will be condoned off which the work is going on and the services will be held in the central section of the church.  Kindly excuse the inconveniences caused and, adjust to the changes for the next couple of months.

  3. Saturday, 3rd February – It is the memorial of St. Blaise. Blessing of the throat after every Mass.

  1. The Church celebrates Unity Octave from January 18 to 25 during which time we are invited to pray for unity among Christians all over the world. Our Parish is organizing a Prayer Service on Thursday 25th January at 7.30 pm after the evening mass. A pastor from a main line church will give a teaching. We request all the cells and associations of the parish to inform your members to attend the same and pray for Christian Unity.

  1. Sabha Day 2018 has been scheduled for 26th January, 2018 at St. Paul’s Ground, Parel.   1. (to be announced only on Saturday) In preparation for Christmas we will have an Evening of Carol’s by the Zones of our parish on Saturday 9th of Dec after the evening mass. Zones will be putting up Carol’s to get us in the Christmas spirit. We encourage all parishioners to join in and participate as well attend this program which will be held in the Church.

During this season, we start the Advent Campaign against Hunger and Disease.  You may contribute for the Advent Campaign by putting your contributions in the envelopes kept in the centre of the Church and
  2. Pope Francis has declared 19th November as World Day for the Poor. In keeping with the Pope’s call during this advent season we are having a campaign for the poor.  The parish councillors will be distributing bags with list of items you can contribute.  This will be collected and given to the poor. The Religious of Mary Immaculate from Regina Pacis are having a Triduum on the 5th, 6th and 7th December with the Eucharist at 7.00 pm in preparation of the feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary and on the 8th of December, there will be a candle light procession at 6.00 am followed by the Eucharist at 6.30 am in the Regina Pacis School Hall. Feast of Christ the King – 26th Nov, 2017

  1. Tomorrow / Today – Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe. Adoration will be from 10.30 am onwards to 5.30 pm.  Different communities will be conducting the adoration every half hour.  At 5.30 pm we have a procession in the Church compound followed by preaching.
  2. First Holy Communion: Parents of First Holy Communicants will have a meeting on 3rd December at 10.30 am in the classroom.  All parents must attend to get instructions about 10th Dec. The Communion day.
  3. The Diocesan Youth Centre is organizing YOUTHSAV 2017, an evening that brings together youth from all over the Archdiocese of Bombay on 3rd December 3.30 pm onwards at St. John the Evangelist Church, Marol. For more details, see the notice board.

33rd Sunday of the Year – 19th November 2017

  1. We thank all members of Parish Communities and Groups and all individual parishioners who contributed towards the Parish Feast Day celebrations with monetary donations. The amount received was Rs. 64,000/-.  We also thank all the parishioners who donated gifts.  May the Lord bless you and Our Lady of Glory shower her blessings on you and your loved ones.

  1. Tomorrow / Today – We celebrate our Parish Feast. The Parish Fathers wish all of you a Very Happy Feast, May Our Lady of Glory; bless each and every family with Good Health, Peace and Joy.  Please convey our prayers and good wishes to the sick and home bound in your families.  Schedule of Masses are 6.00 am, 7.00 am, 8.15 am and feast mass at 9.30 am, there will be no evening mass.  In the evening we have a mini fete from 6.00 pm onwards.  There will be cultural programme, games stalls, food stalls, and other entertainments.  Please note that there is no evening mass on the Feast Day.  Also no parking in the church compound after 2 pm.

  4. The ‘Glorious Glorians’ will be organising a bus to go to Mount Mary’s Basilica, Bandra, to attend the Mass for the Sick & Aged on Monday, 11th September 2017. Transfiguration of our Lord – Vianney Sunday –              6th August 2017

  1. Tomorrow / Today we celebrate Vianney Sunday. We pray for all the priests in our parish and Dioceses that God may continue to bless them to fulfil the mission entrusted to them.  There will be a special felicitations of all our priests at the 9.30 am mass. The collection made at all the masses will go towards sick and retired priest at Clergy Home.
  2. Tomorrow / Today 6th August we have the Parish Council meeting after the 9.30 am mass. All parish councillors are requested to attend.
  3. The Diocesan Youth Centre is organizing a unique Youth Retreat during the Ganesh Chaturthi Holidays at R. C. Church, Khandala from 26th to 29th It is a one of a kind retreat that explains to youth ‘Why you believe…What you believe’.  For registration look up the poster on the notice board.
  4. There is a QUEST program for youngster who are inclined towards priesthood or religious life on August 15 at Goregaon Seminary from 10 am to 1 pm. Please look up the notice board for details.
  5. The ‘Glorious Glorians” will be conducting “Crazy Housie” which is open to all age groups and will be held on, Tuesday, 15th August, from 5.30 pm onwards, at Parish Hall, 1st Registration will be carried out by the Managing Committee Members, sitting in the Old Parish Office, Ground floor, on Saturdays 29th July & 5th August after the 7.00 pm Mass and on Sundays 30th July & 6th August after the 8.15 am, 9.30 am and 5.30 pm masses.
  6. ‘Made in Heaven’ is a gathering of eligibles looking out for life partners with the intention of getting married. There is a meeting on 13th August from 10.30 am onwards.  For details look up the notice board.
  7. Bombay Catholic Sabha will be having membership drive during the month of August. Members will be sitting near old parish office after all the Saturday evening and Sunday masses. All parishioners, who are 18 years and above are requested to become a member of the Bombay Catholic Sabha which works for social, civic and political issues of the community.

  1. Tomorrow / Today we celebrate ‘Parents Day’ in our parish. We remember and pray for all our parents and grandparents. Sunday School ‘Parents Day’ celebration will be at 6.30 pm.
  2. The Bombay Catholic Sabha would like to remind all Parishioners that the Voter Registration Drive has started and will go on till 31st For further details kindly refer to the Sabha Notice Board next to the Sacristy.
  3. The Scholarships schemes for Minority Community has been announced by the Government for the financial year 2017-18. For further details kindly refer to the Sabha Notice Board next to the Sacristy.
  4. We will be reciting the Rosary for world peace on Sunday 30th July at 5.10 pm before the 5.30 pm Mass.
  5. On 4th August we celebrate the feast of St. John Marie Vianney patron saint of all diocesean priests. Remember and pray for all the priests. We will celebrate Vianney Sunday in our parish next Sunday 6th August with a special felicitations of all our priests at the 9.30 am mass.
  6. 4th August is the First Friday of the month, we will have an holy half hour at 6.30 pm.

The Most Holy Trinity Sunday – 11th June 2017

  1. We resume the regular Mass schedule from this week as follows: On Sundaysmasses will be at 6.00 am, 7.00 am (Konkani), 8.15 am, 9.30 am and 5.30 pm. On Weekdays at 6.15 am, 7.30 am and 7.00 pm. On Sundays.
  2. Parish Council meeting will be on 11th June after the 9.30 am mass. All PPC members are requested to attend.
  3. Confirmation: Those interested in receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation this year must enroll for the classes.  Enrollment forms are available in the parish office or with Fr. Raphael.  Last date for enrolment is 11th  Those who have completed tenth standard or above are eligible to enroll to Confirmation.

  1. Lenten Confession: The parish Lenten confessions will be on Monday and Tuesday, 3rd and 4th April, 5 pm to 8 pm.
  2. Stations of the Cross: There will be a special audio visual way of the cross on Friday 7th April after the evening 7 pm mass.  Please note that the way of the cross will be after the mass.

The Sisters of Regina Pacisconvent are celebrating the Feast of the Immaculate Conception Mary on Thursday 8th You are invited to come and join in the three days of preparation for the feast on 5th, 6th& 7th December at 6.45 pm in Regina Pacis school hall.  On 8th December, Feast day there will be a candle light rosary procession at 6 am in the Regina Pacis compound, followed by the Eucharist.

Feast of Christ the King – 20th Nov, 2016

  1. Tomorrow / Today – Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ King of the Universe. (Today Saturday 19th Nov we have Night Vigil from 10 pm to 5 am). Adoration will be from 10.30 am onwards to 5.00 pm.  Different communities will be conducting the adoration every half hour.  At 5.00 pm we have a procession in the Church compound followed by preaching.

  1. Tomorrow / Today – Our Parish Feast Day. The Parish Fathers wish all of you a Very Happy Feast, May Our Lady of Glory; bless each and every family with Good Health, Peace and Joy.  Please convey our prayers and good wishes to the sick and home bound in your families.  Schedule of Masses are 6.00 am, 7.00 am, 8.15 am and feast mass at 9.30 am, there will be no evening mass.  After Mass we have a get together with food stall in the ground.  Evening we have a mini fete from 6.00 pm onwards.  There will be games stalls, food stalls, King and Queen Contests and other entertainments.  Please note that there is no evening mass on the Feast Day.  Also no parking in the church compound throughout the day.   On Feast Day in the evening the King and Queen contest is open to anyone in the age group of 16 to 30 years.  Please register with the Parish councillors.

  1. The novenas in preparation for the parish feast continues. The theme this year is “God’s mercy shown through the Sacraments”.  Sunday, 13th November, – we celebrate our parish feast.  Feast mass is at 9.30 am. After Mass we have a get together with food stall in the ground.  Evening we have a mini fete from 6.00 pm onwards.  There will be games stalls, food stalls, King and Queen contests and other entertainments.  Please note that there is no evening mass on the Feast Day.  Also no parking in the church compound throughout the day.

The Archdiocese will celebrate a ‘Day of Mercy’ with priests available for confessions on the 11th of November.  In our Church priest will be available for confession from 11.30 am to 12.30 pm and from 6.00 pm to 7.00 pm.
  1. Closing the Year of Mercy and in preparation for the feast of Christ the King we are organizing a Night vigil on Saturday 19th November from 10 pm to 5 am.
  1. The Glorious Glorians is organising a Bus to go for the ‘Naval Cruize’ on Wednesday, 23rd November, for Senior Citizens only. Bus will leave the Gloria Church compound at 9.00 am.  Register your names with the core group members after Saturday and Sunday Masses.
  1. The Diocesan Youth Centre is organizing Rocklamation 2016, the biggest gospel rock concert in Mumbai on 27th November, 6 pm onwards at ST. John the Evangelist Church, Marol. For more details, see the notice board.

  1. There will be an intensive preparation for First Holy Communicants from November 1st to 3rd from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm attendance is compulsory.
  1. Tuesday 1st November – Solemnity of All Saints.
  1. Wednesday 2nd November – All Souls Day. Masses will be at 6.15 am, 7.00 am, 7.30 am and 7.00 pm in the evening.  You may place your mass intentions, together with the amount in the Box kept in the Church.  These intentions will be offered at 7.00 pm on that day for the departed Souls.

Also Masses on that day at the Haines Road Cemetery will be as follows: In the morning at 6.30 am, 7.15 am and 8.00 am and in the evening at 5.30 pm.  General blessing of the graves will be after the 8.00 am Mass.

  1. On Tuesday, 20th September, Pope Francis will be presiding over an Interreligious Meeting in Assisi on the theme, ‘Thirst for Peace: Religions and cultures in dialogue.’ Parishes and Schools all over the world have been requested to observe this day as a Day of Prayer for Peace. You are invited to spend some time on this day praying for peace.
  2. The Parish Council members and the GYM are planning a Paper Drive towards upgrading the sound system for our parish events and association functions.  This coming week the youth will be visiting the communities of Zone 1.  Please keep your News Papers ready.

20th Sunday of the Year – Prison Ministry Sunday –     14th August, 2016

  1. Today we celebrate Prison Ministry Sunday.
  2. Monday 15th August is the Feast of the Assumption of our Lady and Independence Day. It is a day of obligation. Masses will be as on Sunday – morning 6am, 7am, 8.15 am & 9.30 am.  There will be no evening mass. Flag hoisting will be at 8.00 am.
  3. Glorious Glorians will be having Crazy Housie at 5.30 pm on 15th August.
  4. Youth trek to Lohagad Fort on17th August. Today is the last day to register.  All those coming for the trek, there is a meeting at 6.30 pm on 14th August in the A/V room.
  5. Next Sunday, 21st August – Justice Sunday.

  1. The Revised Draft Development Plan 2034, shows Gloria Church as a “Primary & Secondary School” only and part of Church property as a “Garden”. It has mentioned neither the Church nor the Special School.  The Bombay Catholic’s formulated an objection letter along with the Parish Fathers.  We urge all parishioners above the age of 18 years to sign the objection letter.  Bombay Catholic Sabha members are seated at the church exits with the objection letters.  Please sign the same.  The last date for filing objections is on 22nd July 2016.  A map of the DP is put up on the notice board.
  1. There will be a Youth Meeting on Sunday, 17th July at 6.30 pm in the anza School Hall. All confirmation students and other Youth are requested to attend.

  1. Sunday, 3rd April, – Divine Mercy Feast, Mass is at 8.15 am.

Easter Sunday of the Lord’s Resurrection – Solemnity

  1. The Parish Fathers wish each and every Parishioner especially the home bound – the Peace and the Joy of the Risen Lord.
  1. Masses today (Easter Sunday) at 7.00 am, 8.15 am & 9.30 am. No Mass at 6.00 am.  No Evening Mass. 
  1. Easter Blessing of Homes. Families are requested to assemble in their homes at a convenient time and conduct the Easter Blessings. Holy water may be collected from behind the church on Easter Sunday or later, bring your own bottles.  Prayer sheets for house blessings are kept in the sacristy, please collect one per family.
  1. Divine Mercy Novena continues today after 9.30 am Mass and from 28th March to 2nd April after 7.00 pm Mass. Feast Day – Mass will be on Sunday, 3rd April at 8.15 am Mass.

Palm Sunday – The Passion of the Lord – 20th March, 2016

  1. Sunday, 20th March – Palm Sunday. Blessing of Palms and procession will be at 8 am.  Masses in the morning will be as on Sundays.  There will be no evening mass, instead we have the Pilgrim Way of the Cross starting from the church at 5 pm.  The procession will leave the Church compound by the side Gate to Amberkar Road, Love Lane, Mount Road, Mustafa Bazaar, Sant Savta Marg and enter back to Gloria Church compound for the final blessing.  Kindly join in large numbers and make this pilgrimage a spiritual experience.

  1. The Bombay Catholic Sabha, Gloria Church – Byculla Unit, will be organizing a talk on “You as a Consumer” on Sunday 13th March 2016, after the 9.30 am Mass, by Advocate Uday Wavikar and Mr. Vijay Samant.
  1. There will be Bible class on Monday 14th March, 2016 after evening mass.
  1. Lenten Confession: The parish Lenten confessions will be on 14th & 15th March 5 pm to 8 pm
  1. Stations of the Cross: There will be a special audio visual way of the cross on Friday 18th March after the evening 7 pm mass.  Please note that the way of the cross will be after the mass.

3rd Sunday of the Lent  – 28th February, 2016

  1. 24 Hours for the Lord is an initiative of Pope Francis who has request to set aside 4th and 5th of March, 2016 as day of adoration, prayer & reconciliation. Two church’s in our deanery has been selected for this 24 Hour adoration.  Holy Name Cathedral, Fort and Gloria Chruch, Byculla.  Our Church will be open for adoration from 7.30 pm on Friday 4th March to 7.00 pm Saturday 5th  There will be adoration throughtout the day, night vigil and confessions. Details of the 24 Hours adoration are put up on the notice board.  Details also put up on the website. We encourage all parishioners to attend adoration sometime during the day.

  1. To celebrate the Jubilee Year of Mercy and enter into the spirit of Lent, St. Pius X Church, Mulund West is organizing a Lenten Mission preached by a lay missionary from Malaysia, Jude Antoine. The mission will be held from 4th to 6th  Please see the notice board/banner for details.
  1. 24 Hours for the Lord is an initiative of Pope Francis who has request to set aside 4th and 5th of March, 2016 as day of adoration, prayer & reconciliation. Two church’s in our deanery has been selected for this 24 Hour adoration. Holy Name Cathedral, Fort and Gloria Chruch, Byculla.  Details of the 24 Hours for the Lord will be announced next week.

1ST Sunday of the Lent – 14th February, 2014

  1. We celebrate World Marriage day on 14th We pray for all married couples. We have a special mass and blessing of married couples at the 5.30 pm mass on 14th February, 2016.
  1. Bible classes begin on Monday, 15th February, session on the Old Testament background to the passion of Jesus.
  1. There will be a special mass for all students appearing exams on 15th February at 7.00 pm followed by special prayer service for the students. All students appearing for exams are welcome.
  2. The Stations of the Cross during Lent will be in English on Fridays at 6.30 pm followed by Mass at 7.00 pm and in Konkani on Wednesdays at 6.30 pm.
  1. Lenten Alms Box: You may deposit your Lenten Alms in the box kept in the sanctuary. This collection will go towards the Diocesan Seminary at Goregaon.
  1. Eucharistic Ministers will have a meeting on 21st February after the 9.30 am mass.
  1. The Glorious Glorians, Senior Parishioner’s Association of our Parish is organizing their Annual Day on 21st February 2016. 5TH Sunday of the Year – 7th February 2016

  1. Sunday, 7th February – Bible Sunday.
  1. On 7th February we celebrate Bible Sunday.
  1. Wednesday, 10th February – Ash Wednesday. It is a day of Fast and Abstinence.  Ashes will be imposed only during the masses.
  1. The Stations of the Cross during Lent will be in English on Fridays at 6.30 pm followed by Mass at 7.00 pm and in Konkani on Wednesdays at 6.30 pm.
  1. On 11th February Our Feast of our Lady of Lourdes is also world day of sick. There will be a Mass for the Sick and Aged of our parish, on Thursday 11th February at 5.00 pm in the Church. The Parish council members and the Eucharistic Ministers are urged to get the people and assist them before, during and after the Mass on that day.  Anyone needing assistance may give your name to the parish office.

4th Sunday of the Year – 31st January, 2016

  1. The ‘Glorious Glorians’ Senior Parishioner’s Association of Gloria Church, Byculla, is conducting a Health Talk on ‘Common Ailments and alternative ways to cure them on Sunday, 31st January, 2016 in the anza School Hall, 1st floor, at 10.30 am sharp. The talk will be given by Dr. Ms. Maitrayee Bhattacharya, of the Health Promotion Trust.  All are welcomed.
  1. Bible class as usual after the evening mass on Mondays.
  1. Tuesday 2nd February – Feast of the Presentation of the Lord (Day of Consecrated Life). Candles will be blessed and distributed at the 6.15 am Mass.
  1. Wednesday 3rd February – It is the memorial of St. Blaise. Blessing of the throat after every Mass.
  1. First Friday on 5th February, Holy half hour at 6.30 pm followed by Mass.

3rd Sunday of the Year  – Vocation Sunday – 24th Jan, 2016

  1. Bible class as usual after the evening mass on Mondays.
  1. The next Pre-Baptism Catechesis programme will be held on Sunday, 24th January & Tuesday, 26th January 2016, in the evening from 5.00 pm to 7.00 pm. All couples expecting a baby are required to attend this programme before the birth of the baby.  Certificate will be issued.  Please register at the parish office.
  1. Year of Mercy: Our Parish will inaugurate the year of Mercy on 26th At 6.15 pm we will have a prayer service on the white stone, followed by blessing and opening of the church doors.  Followed by Holy Half Hour in the Church and Reconciliation Eucharist at 7.00 pm.
  1. The Family & Women Cell of Gloria Parish is organizing a get-together on 31st January 2016, after the 5.30 pm Mass for widows, widowers & Singles aged 40 and above in anza School Hall which is open to all neighbouring parishes. Snacks and dinner will be provided at a nominal charge of Rs. 100/- per head. Registration is compulsory.  Members will be sitting for registration after Saturday evening and Sunday masses on 16th, 17th, 23rd and 24th of January 2016.
